Webster signs history-making Warriors extension

Andrew Webster is set to make NZ Warriors history after signing a four-year contract extension through to the end of the 2032 NRL season.
Webster will become the club’s longest-serving head coach, surpassing his former mentor Ivan Cleary’s current record of six seasons between 2006 and 2011.
His tenure will stretch to 10 seasons, having taken charge in 2023 and guided the Warriors to the finals in three of his four years at the helm.
The timing is fitting, with Webster nearing two significant coaching milestones over the final three rounds of the regular season.
Saturday’s clash with the Rabbitohs will mark his 100th game as an NRL head coach, while the Round 27 meeting with Manly will be his 100th game in charge of the Warriors.

“It’s humbling to be able to secure my future here for this long,” Webster said in a statement.
“I love this club, I have the greatest belief in what we can achieve and I’m excited knowing I’m going to be here until 2032.”
Since taking over, Webster has transformed the Warriors into a consistent top-eight side, leading them to a preliminary final in 2023 before further finals appearances in 2025 and 2026.
Warriors CEO Cameron George said Webster’s influence extended well beyond results.
“He has galvanised us, setting in place a sustainable culture throughout the entire club,” George said.
“He has achieved fantastic results turning the One New Zealand Warriors into a consistent top eight side, one that everyone can be proud of.”
Webster has recorded 55 wins, one draw and 41 losses in his 97 games as Warriors head coach.
