WATCH: NSW star targeted by missile after Origin
Accor Stadium security are working with NSW Police after video shows how close NSW utility Connor Watson came to being hit by a full can of liquid after NSW defeat to Queensland.
Watson was shaking hands with a fan as he made his way towards where his family and friends were seated when the object narrowly missed him.
According to Watson, a can of Canadian Club was thrown.
“I’ve had to go up there, my family and friends were up there,” Watson told News Corp.
“One of my mates is in a wheelchair, and he can’t come down the stairs, so I have walked up there to go see him.
“As I’m walking, a can of Canadian Club lands right next to me and it’s like someone had thrown it at me.
“If they did throw it... the words I want to use for it... I can’t say right now.
“If it was thrown, it’s disappointing to think someone thinks it’s OK to do that.
“If that got me in the head... it seemed like it came from the top level.
“It’s disappointing to be honest.
“I’m just going up to visit my family and friends, I shouldn’t have to worry about someone throwing a can at me."
NSW lost the series decider by 12-points with many now questioning Laurie Daley’s position as coach after the side capitulated across the three games.
