Should be $1.50: One of the better bets of the Randwick carnival

SENTrack form analysts Dean Watling, Mick Gannon and Mitch Lewis are all very keen on Swiftfalcon at Randwick on the first day of the Championships.
The Team Hawkes gelding runs in the Carbine Club Stakes at Group 3 level over 1600m on Saturday and is highly fancied to get the job done.
Watling is extremely keen on the three-year-old who last ran third behind Broadsiding and Aeliana in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas and is currently priced at $1.90 with Sportsbet.
“This is one of the better bets you’ll find across the carnival,” Watling said on SENTrack’s Giddy Up.
“I thought this was ridiculous odds, I was hoping for maybe $1.50.
“I do concede Evaporate is a good horse but you look at the rest of the field and it drops away sharply.
“Swiftfalcon with a better ride I think wins the Rosehill Guineas and I think he’s an out and out 1600m horse.
“There’s not a whole lot of speed in this race but what I love is the rail in the true and the 1600m start definitely suits those coming from behind and getting to the middle lanes.
“His form lines and back to 1600 are big ticks.
“Really keen on Swiftalcon.”
Gannon has very similar thoughts on the winner of three of 10 career starts.
“I’m confident in Swiftfalcon, I completely agree,” he said.
“Evaporate is clearly the second pick in what’s a race in two.
“Bur Swiftfalcon clearly on top.”
While Lewis is also keen on the son of Exceedance provided he runs in the Carbine and not the Group 1 Doncaster Mile.
“There’s two more to come out of the Doncaster, so say if something happens and he doesn’t pop up here I’d maybe consider Shangri La Spring.
“But Swiftfalcon to win if he runs.”
Swiftfalcon is one of four emergencies for the Doncaster but would need two horses to be scratched before getting a run in the $4 million race.
