SALE
Race 1 | 2. Scorched Lane
I do hate tipping them this short in maidens but finally drawn a gate. Been gelded since two nice runs in first prep in similar company and jumped out nicely. Tougher speed map with a few debutants but I expect him to be prominent if not controlling the race and break the maiden.
Race 4 | 5. Heff
Was slow when resuming and had to come around them over 1200m and I like the step up to the seven furlongs. The bigger track suits him today and I’m interested to see what Dan Stackhouse does from that gate, if he jumps well they might try and squeeze forward. Ran well second up in first prep, also think being on top of the ground is a big positive. Koondakaara is the danger and should have a nice run in transit also up to the 1400m but I think Heff has more to offer.
Race 7 | 1. Highland Harley
This bloke flies first up and again has trialed out really well at Cranbourne. Perfectly drawn to lead although there is a bit of speed and I expect Jessup to go forward but hopefully they don’t take each other on. Good track is perfect and he was great kickstarting his last prep over 1200m as well. Steph Hateley claims 3kg so well waited, is the one to catch.
BALLINA
Race 3 | 5. Viale
No concerns on the heavy track and this easier than last prep when in town a couple of times. Jett Newman takes 3kg off the back and from that gate expect the filly to be on speed. Pareto in a similar situation and handles the heavy but weight the advantage here for the filly.
GOULBURN
Race 2 | 8. Nami's Jewel
Was pretty good in a tougher race resuming and nearly pinched in. Fitter for that and up to 1000m helps. Drawn nicely to jump and run and would prefer it if wasn’t annoyed but there is some speed with Power Smash who will go forward from a wide gate, so Nami's Jewel might need to take a sit. Drying track also will play well for her but soft no major concern.
DALBY
Race 6 | 3. Adalie
Barriers win races and I’m siding with this mare because of it. She loves getting the toe into the ground and is drawn to sit one out one back Xerri who is the speed horse. She belted them at Toowoomba in an identical race and up to the 1200m offers zero concern. Scratchings help Dream Lantern’s barrier (into 10) but still a little tricky draw. I also think he is a little more effective on top of the ground so I am absolutely in the Adalie’s corner.

SALE
Race 2 | 9. Villa Royale
Very consistent mare without having won. First up effort was good, she was well backed, second up today should be hard to beat. $3.50!
BALLINA
Race 3 | 1. Pareto
Won a trial nicely leading into today, has won on a heavy track before and will find this significantly easier than what he last contested at $3.40.
DALBY
Race 8 | 1. Azuki
Won two in a row and in great form, 1400m is pet trip and handles a soft track. Good each way bet at $8.50.
