CAULFIELD
Race 5 | 1. Salsa Fellow
Back to the 1200m here for the 1st time this prep and judging by last run, it’s going to work! Will stalk the speed and there is a Lot of speed. Soft track is perfect is well weighted. Rarely runs a bad race and he won’t again here. Bossy Benita is the danger. Was huge at Sandown and expect her to improve again here. This is harder but she carries no weight and will be on pace and I think SF speed maps for an easier run and that’s why I’m leaning that way.
Race 6 | 7. Savagery Vibe
Forgot last start where it didn’t handle Sydney at all and yet still nearly won! Back the Melbourne way and drawn a tad wider helps. There is a little speed (Mystic Reign/Delicate Lady) so as long as Willo can get a backside he will travel nicely and be able to rattle home. A drying Soft 5 is perfect and I expect this girl to be very hard to beat.
Race 8 | 8. New York Lustre
Little tricky draw and speed map but she was really good last start and I expect improvement. She had that break and then didn’t have any trials so expect her to be a lot fitter. She will need to find a backside and if she can get onto the back of Bridal Waltz it will be a huge win. She is good 2nd/3rd up but hard to tell which one this actually is due to shorter break and no trials but neither hurt. Baraqiel easily best horse in race but long break might need this run a little but no chance leaving out of quaddie but I’m with New York New York.
RANDWICK
Race 4 | 1. Codetta
About time this horse had some luck and that includes barrier draws. Perfectly placed today to have run of race. Waddick takes 2kg off and this is a similar field she should have beat last start. Stays at the 1300m which is good considering she ran it well last start when wide. Toe into the ground is a bonus and has run well fourth up before. If she gets some luck she is right there to win.
Race 5 | 1. Ruby Flyer (each-way)
Actually wasn’t too bad last start when back off a wide draw and hit the line well. Loves the Mile and always runs well at Randwick. Won second up and with even luck will present in the straight: 3kg claim helps offset the weight. It’s a very open race so don’t go overboard but this bloke is over the odds and a nice each way play!
Race 10 | 6. Puntin
This is a speed map bet where I think he’ll be able to get to the lead easily. No real pressure expected which means the 1800m won’t be an issue. Was good through the line last start and never runs a bad race. $2.50 about as short as you want him and he was good last prep fourth up. Track conditions suit as does jockey in form. One out in the quaddie!
BUNDABERG CUP
Race 4 | 7. Heat
Belted similar field last start going out and leading and expect the same today. Loves this track and the claim helps. Jump, lead, win CUP! Gave currently is Holiday Dreams and I am suspect at a strong 1380m so I’m with Heat!!
MACKAY CUP
Race 7 | 1. Hype
Going for back to back and it’s 2000m time! Will settle back in the field and off a hot tempo will fly home and celebrate like he did last year! The Rocky Cup is good form for this and soft track won’t be a hindrance.
ROEBOURNE CUP
Race 7 | 7. Hezazeb (each-way)
Over the odds here considering will run the distance easily. Went forward last start over 2000m and was decent. Will be a few pairs back but I do like it to out grind a lot of these late and is no doubt over the odds at $13.

David Taggart
CAULFIELD
Race 5 | 1. Salsa Fellow
Is looking for this 1200m and can win. Draws good and won’t get as far back as he did here two weeks ago. Wet track won’t be an issue for him either.
Race 7 | 8. Seonee (each-way)
Was given no ride last start and she deserves another chance at the each-way odds. She draws much better here and won’t get as far back in the run like last start. With rain around it works in her favour.
RANDWICK
Race 4 | 4. Stardeel
Ran through the line nicely last start as favourite for a half length defeat by a horse in form. He has this trip written all over him as he’s looking for the 1300m.
Race 5 | 4. Oh Diamond Lil
Looks the obvious here even if she has to come from the outside gate and this is a rise in grade. She will roll forward and try and dictate the race. Looking to make it 4/4 over the mile.
Race 6 | 5. She's Unusual
Stepped straight to 1800m after racing over 1400m and she relished it. Will adopt the same tactics here by leading from a soft draw and with a claim she’s is going to be very hard to beat again.
Race 9 | 7. Lordster (each-way)
Comes off an impressive Highway win first up after drawing bad and there is no reason he can’t win again. Draws pole here which is a plus along with a 3 kilo claim to compensate dropping back in trip a tad. Great each-way play.
