Inside Adam Kingsley's ruthless Giants spray

There are very few occurrences in modern day football as frightening as an Adam Kingsley spray, and in Round 20, his GWS Giants fell victim to a ruthless torching from their senior coach.
Down by nearly five goals to the Swans at half-time of the Sydney derby, the Giants looked at sea, kicking just three first-half goals while struggling to get any run going in a crucial battle at ENGIE Stadium.
It was in the main break in which Kingsley unleashed, ripping into his side following what was an out-of-character first 40 minutes of play.
From there, the Giants went on to boot nine third-quarter goals, conceding just one goal for the remainder of the game to run away 44-point winners.
The spray from Kingsley was evidently highly effective, but what actually occurred during that vital 20-minute break?
As GWS defender and Round 20 Rising Star nominee Joe Fonti revealed, Kingsley stopped at nothing to convey his message, with the change rooms hosting a number of inanimate casualties.
“I remember when we first got in, there was a chair that got kicked to the other side of the room,” Fonti said on SEN Dwayne’s World.
“The whiteboard marker was getting a bit of a workout as well, squeezing the ink out of the whiteboard marker.
“(It was) fairly intense, but I think he’s just passionate. It was good coaching because we came out with a completely different mindset in the second half.
“His spray was effective, so good coaching on his behalf. In saying that, it shouldn’t take him spraying us to click into gear.
“It was intense. (The chair) was pretty front and centre, I just remember it flying across the room. I sort of held my tongue, trying not to laugh at the time. Like I said, it was very intense.”
The Giants will be hoping to avoid another Kingsley spray as they take on the Western Bulldogs in a crunch clash at Marvel Stadium tonight at 7:30pm AEST.
