Dragons blitz the Titans in dominant win
St George Illawarra put on a dominant display against Gold Coast on Friday night as the Dragons smashed the Titans 38-16 in Wollongong.
Having lost to Parramatta last week who were on the bottom of the ladder at that point, the Dragons were keen to show the competition they were.
However, the Dragons did not get out to a great start with the Titans having the first chance of the game in the 5th minute.
However, this was called a no-try by the bunker.
The Dragons would then get the first score of the game with a try from Christian Tuipulotu in the 9th minute. The winger had signed a one-year extension on his deal with the Dragons and was keen to show his love for his team in his celebration.
While the Titans would then equal Brian Kelly, it then became a Dragons onslaught.
The Dragons managed to score four tries in the space of 11 minutes across the halves with Valentine Holmes, Tyrell Sloan, and Kyle Flanagan all scoring tries and Tuipulotu scoring another.
Sloan would score another in the 59th minute before the Titans responded with a try of their own just two minutes later through Phillip Sami.
The Dragons would score one more try before the end of the game to get to 38 points while Gold Coast Titans star AJ Brimson would score a consolation try in the 78th minute to close the game out on a high for the Titans.

Speaking in the post-game press conference, St George Illawarra captain Damien Cook was pleased at how his side managed to handle the Titans physicality.
“It was a close start; it was pretty physical at the start” Cook noted.
“I think we just waited for our turn and when we did, we took those opportunities.”
The Dragons will take on the Manly Sea Eagles next week at Brookvale on Thursday night.
The Titans will play the Canberra Raiders on the Gold Coast next Sunday.
