Fletch: The players NSW Blues must drop for Origin I
SEN’s Bryan Fletcher has named which players from the successful 2024 NSW Blues side will hold their place in coach Laurie Daley’s 2025 team.
After initially trailing the series 1-0, then NSW coach Michael Maguire squared the ledger in Melbourne before completing a remarkable comeback in the Game III decider and claiming the Origin shield.
NSW's 2024 Game III team:
1 - Dylan Brown, 2 - Brian To'o, 3 - Bradman Best, 4 - Stephen Crichton, 5 - Zac Lomax, 6 - Jarome Luai, 7 - Mitchell Moses, 8 - Jake Trbojevic (c), 9 - Reece Robson, 10 - Payne Haas, 11 - Liam Martin, 12 - Angus Crichton, 13 - Cameron Murray.
Interchange: 14 - Connor Watson, 15 - Isaah Yeo, 16 - Mitchell Barnett, 17 - Spencer Leniu.
Dylan Edwards
“He’s a yes, not a maybe,” Fletcher said on SEN 1170.
“If he’s fit then yes.”
Brian To’o
“Yes.
“If he doesn’t come back from his hamstring, it’s time for Kiraz.
“I want to see Jacob Kiraz.
“Tedesco is flying so you could put him on the wing (but) he hasn’t played there for a long time.
“You’ve also got Ryan Papenhuyzen who is flying as well."
Bradman Best
“No, not at the moment.
“Bronson Xerri could be a good shout.
“You’ve also got Latrell Mithcell and I’m not even thinking about Tom (Trbojevic).”
Stephen Crichton, Zac Lomax & Jarome Luai
“Yes.”
Mitch Moses
“No. I’ve got Nathan Cleary there but hear me out.
“I feel that Moses aims up in representative football. There are some players (who lift) the biggest the game.
“We could play him at six.”
State of Origin I will be held at Suncorp Stadium on May 28.
