YES or NO: The horses that can win the Newmarket & All-Star Mile
Expert form analyst Mark Hunter has taken a look at both the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1000m) and Group 1 All-Star Mile (1600m) at Flemington on Saturday.
He has broken down each horse in those races, runner by runner.
Newmarket Handicap
Hunter believes the handicap sprint is a very difficult race to predict, but is slightly leaning towards the favourite Tentyris.
“It’s tricky, it's a really tricky race to work out,” Hunter admitted.
“You've got Caballus as your leader, and pretty much the only leader.
“Baraqiel gets the blinkers on first time, goes forward, but you wouldn't think he's going to drive the leader mad.
“And Gallant Son will probably be next settling, but it's not a blistering early horse, so it's really interesting where they'll come down the straight.
“By Race 9, you'd think the best going's out wide, and it's just going to be a complete traffic jam if Craig Newitt (Caballus’ jockey) brings the field across the outside.
“I'll tip Tentyris – it won the Lightning in outstanding fashion first-up, but it was run to suit.
“It's a star.
“He's going to need a good ride. I just can't see where he gets to that's a good spot. He's got to hope that he can get the back of something like War Machine or My Gladiola to drag him into the race.
“It's no guarantee he'll find the right spot here, so, it's just not smooth sailing.
“(But) I think he's the best horse and he can win.”
Hunter also provided a YES or NO rating for each horse in the sprint.

All-Star Mile
Hunter loves a mare for this famous mile race and it's the five-year-old Stefi Magnetica.
“I'm going to tip Stefi Magnetica,” Hunter revealed.
“I used to think that she would struggle at 1600m, but she's been fantastic – she’s had four goes at the distance, and they've just been beauties.
“First-up, (she) just got too far back in that Autumn Glow race and ran on really well.
“Here, she draws well. She's obviously got Pride of Jenni inside her, who will lead.
“I think Stefi can go forward, be in the first four – not do the chasing dog work, but track up behind them.
“I think she'll run terrific Stefi Magnetica, so I'm going with her.”
Hunter also provided a YES or NO rating for each horse in the Group 1.
