Willmer wins silver after late twist in breaststroke final

Josh Willmer has been upgraded to silver after a dramatic finish to the men’s 100m breaststroke SB9 final at the Commonwealth Games.
The defending Commonwealth champion initially touched in the bronze-medal position after storming home over the final 25 metres in 1:11.44.
But with the race placed under review, Canada’s Fernando Lu, who had finished second, was later disqualified.
That promoted Willmer to silver behind Australia’s Beau Matthews, adding another medal to New Zealand’s tally in Glasgow.
It is New Zealand’s sixth medal of the Games and fourth silver.
