Dame Lisa Carrington has announced she will be starting a family, revealing on her Instagram that she and partner Michael Buck are expecting their first baby.
“We are so ready for this next chapter and couldn’t be more excited to begin our journey into parenthood.”
“Pregnancy so far has been a real learning curve, but feeling very lucky and very excited for what’s to come.”
The eight time Olympic gold medallist confirmed she is due in late September, meaning she will compete at the World Cups in Europe in May.
Following that, she will be out for the rest of the season, including the 2026 World Championships.
A return is already on the mind for Carrington.
“Yes, Los Angeles 2028 Olympics is still the goal, but right now, my focus is on navigating this pregnancy.”
