NZ Warriors sign former Bulldogs halfback

The NZ Warriors have signed former Canterbury Bulldogs halfback Bailey Biondi-Odo on a development contract for the 2027 season.
The 24-year-old will join the Auckland-based club after three seasons with the Townsville Blackhawks in the Queensland Cup. He previously made 17 NRL appearances for the Bulldogs between 2021 and 2022.
“Bailey showed a lot of promise when he broke into the NRL with the Bulldogs and has just come out of a terrific season with Townsville,” said Warriors general manager of recruitment, pathways and development Andrew McFadden
“We’re excited to bring him into our system and give him this opportunity. He’ll boost our resources in the halves and add to the competition for spots.”

Born in Mount Isa, Biondi-Odo was used mainly off the bench during his NRL appearances. He suffered an ACL injury in late 2022 before leaving the Bulldogs in 2024 to join the Blackhawks.
He has since made 74 appearances across the New South Wales and Queensland Cup competitions, scoring 39 tries.
In 2024, Biondi-Odo represented the Ron Griffiths-coached Indigenous All Stars in their 22-14 victory over the Māori All Stars in Townsville.
