Nicho Hynes will miss the Sharks elimination final if he accepts an early guilty plea after being charged following last night’s win.
Hynes has been charged with Grade 2 Dangerous Contact following an alleged hip drop tackle on Bulldogs’ winger Marcelo Montoya.
The incident arose in the 75th minute of the Sharks 24-6 win over the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs and saw Montoya limp from the field afterwards.

Hynes will be suspended for one game if he accepts the early guilty plea, ruling him out of the Sharks’ elimination final against the Roosters.
If he opts to challenge and lose, it will rule him out for two matches, meaning he wouldn’t be available unless the Sharks qualify for a preliminary final.
It’s a huge blow for Cronulla, who produced arguably their best performance of the season last night to defeat the Bulldogs.
Hynes was crucial in that contest, with a try assist and two line break assists.
If Hynes misses the match, it will likely see Braydon Trindall and Daniel Atkinson line up together in the halves for the do-or-die clash.
