Kim breaks 5796-day drought in LIV Golf comeback
In one of the greatest comeback stories that Golf has seen, Anthony Kim is once again a winner at the professional level.
The 40-year-old American, who has not won a professional golf event since April 4, 2010, has broken a 5,796-day streak after having taken out the individual title at The Grange Golf Club.
The former World No. 6 had only returned to the sport in 2024 through LIV as a wildcard after taking a 12-year hiatus from the sport, having battled through injuries alongside addiction and mental health problems.
Throughout his first two seasons, he struggled to find his feet, which saw him relegated from LIV at the end of 2025.
However, the three-time PGA Tour winner managed to regain his spot on LIV through the promotions event at the start of the year, which would help play a part in his signing for 4Aces GC just days before competing in Adelaide.
And in his new colours, the American played exceptionally well throughout the first three rounds, having remained in the top four, having shot two 67’s alongside a 68 to have a score of -14.
But heading into the fourth and final round, the American was five shots behind Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau.
But a flawless performance, which included nine birdies through the last 18, would see him finish on an overall score of -23, which saw him beat second-place Rahm by three shots in the final group.
It also helped that the Spaniard finished the last round with a score of +1, while DeChambeau ended up finishing +2 to finish equal third alongside Tyrrell Hatton and Peter Uihlein.
It’s also been a day for the Aussies through Ripper GC.
After winning the season opener in Riyadh, the Aussie foursome, which includes Cam Smith, Lucas Herbert, Marc Leishman and new addition for 2026 Elvis Smylie, managed to lift from their Round 1 performance of -8 to finish two shots ahead of Legion XIII on -55 to top the team leaderboard.
It’s now the second time that Ripper GC have won at Adelaide.
This year will be the last time that The Grange plays host to LIV's Australian leg.
In 2027, LIV Golf will head to the Kooyonga Golf Club before then moving to the newly redeveloped North Adelaide Golf Course for 2028.
