All Blacks and Blues wing Mark Tele'a has confirmed he's heading to Japan.
The 28-year-old may have played his final Test match, announcing he'll leave New Zealand at the end of this Super Rugby Pacific season to link up with former coach Ian Foster at Toyota Verblitz.
Tele'a will still be eligible to play for the All Blacks this year but it will be down to coach Scott Robertson as to whether he's selected given his imminent departure.
"It's been an amazing ride, so many fantastic memories and amazing people," said Tele'a. "But after much thought I have decided from next year I will play my rugby in Japan.
"Thanks to my fellow players, coaches, administrators and fans for making the past years special for me."
The Aucklander has played 19 Test matches for the All Blacks since his debut in 2022, which came on the back of a stellar campaign for the Blues.
His maiden campaign at international level was equally impressive, storming onto the scene with some outstanding performance to earn World Rugby's Breakthrough Player of the Year award.
He was also a key piece for the Blues in their run to their drought-breaking run to the Super Rugby Pacific title last year.
"Mark has been an outstanding servant to the Blues jersey," said Blues GM Murray Williams.
"He brings intensity, physicality and flair every time he takes the field, and his growth as both a player and person has been great to watch.
"While we will miss him, we support this next chapter in his journey and thank him for everything he’s given to the Blues."
