A major story is coming out of Rosehill, as jockey Tom Sherry who was riding Grand Prairie has collided with Dylan Gibbons and horse Tyreek, resulting in a massive fall.
“We’ve had a fall, there’s a bad fall,” Taggart announced on SENTrack’s Saturday Trackside.
“Tyreek’s come down… There were a few horses caught up in that bad fall.”
Paul Sebastiani then broke down exactly how the fall happened.
“Tom Sherry was trying to keep Providence in a pocket and go in-between the leaders ahead of him who were parting ways,” Sebastiani revealed.
“Providence has gone back to the inside and Tyreek has just been forced into the fence.
“That has led to Dylan Gibbons falling off his mount.”
Dylan Gibbons managed to get up and walk to the ambulance after the fall, but the condition of the horse Tyreek is still unknown.
Ex-jockey David Taggart added a positive light to the situation, being thankful that the rails are no longer wooden.
“Thank God for these rails that are plastic, and they give way,” Taggart said.
“Before I was riding, it was wood.
“I think Tommy Sherry’s going to feel terrible.
“Our thoughts are with Dylan.”
Stewards will conduct an analysis on the incident to hand out any required suspensions as needed.
