The New Zealand Breakers have made a statement signing off-season signing, securing star guard Dejan Vasiljevic on a one-year deal.
Known as 'DJ', Vasiljevic arrives in Auckland with a reputation as one of the league’s premier perimeter threats and a proven winner, having claimed back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023.
He joins the Breakers following a strong stint with the Adelaide 36ers, where he served as co-captain and a key leader.
The 28-year-old has built a career as one of the NBL’s most reliable scorers from long range, boasting a three-point shooting percentage hovering around 38 percent.
His consistent offensive output - including a career average of 14.9 points per game - has also earned him selection with the Australian Boomers.
His arrival marks another step in the Breakers’ push to strengthen a roster built around high performance, following the club’s recent Ignite Cup success.

"DJ is a proven winner and a player who thrives under pressure, in big moments." says Dillon Boucher, NZ Breakers President of Basketball Operations.
"His ability to stretch the floor and his leadership perfectly align with the style of play we have established here in Auckland."
Vasiljevic is set to slot into a backcourt that already features dynamic playmaker Parker Jackson-Cartwright, while adding further experience alongside emerging Kiwi talent Sam Mennenga.
"I am incredibly excited to join the NZ Breakers and become part of the whānau. This club has a prestigious history and with a clear vision for the future that I want to be a part of.”
