Most runs, most wickets and more: Steve OâKeefeâs BBL|15 predictions
SEN ⢠ December 12th, 2025 9:42 am

Former Australian spinner Steve OâKeefe has made his big predictions ahead of the BBL|15 season.
OâKeefe played 103 Big Bash games for the Sixers, from the clubâs foundation all the way until the BBL|13 season, where he retired two years ago.
Having played so much Big Bash cricket, OâKeefe has an intimate knowledge of the players and teams involved.
With that in mind, heâs looked into his crystal ball and picked his top run-scorer, top wicket taker and premier for the upcoming season, which begins on Sunday when the Scorchers host the Sixers in Perth.
MOST RUNS
Chris Lynn (Adelaide Strikers)
âItâs tricky for me to not just pick Sixers players,â OâKeefe said on Sportsday NSW.
âBut do you know what, Iâve spent a bit of time with this guy overseas, and heâs getting a bit older and wiser with experience.
âSo Iâm going to go with Chris Lynn, this is a guy whoâs made himself available to play the whole Big Bash.
âHe gets to play at the Adelaide Oval, where the average score is higher than everywhere else; he gets to face the new ball, and heâs improved against spin, particularly leg spin.Â
âSo, Iâm tipping him to get the most runs.â
MOST WICKETS
Tanveer Sangha (Sydney Thunder)
âMost wickets, itâs hard to steer past some Sixers players, but I will, Iâm going with Tanveer Sangha for the Sydney Thunder, the leg spinner.
âThe Thunder have decided that their home ground is going to be predominantly spin-based; theyâre going to slow it up.
âI think everyone thought T20 cricket would be the death of spin bowling, but itâs the opposite⌠when you need 12 an over, taking down a leg-spinner is very hard to do.
âSo Iâve got Tanveer.â
BBL WINNERS
Sydney Sixers
âIâm going to say itâs a Hurricanes v Sixers Grand Final at the SCG, and I think the Sixers will get it done.
âBut Iâm giving a special note to the Heat and the Thunder, who I also think will have special seasons as well.â
