White Ferns star Bates ruled out of Zimbabwe series with injury

White Ferns star Suzie Bates is out of action for the next three months due to injury.
Bates sustained a quadricep tear fielding for Otago during a Hallyburton Johnstone Shield match last month.
The injury will rule her out the remainder of Otago's domestic season and the New Zealand's home series against Zimbabwe.

But the 38-year-old is confident she'll be recovered in time to face South Africa in their T20 and ODI series, starting March 15.
âIâm gutted to be missing out this summer, I was really looking forward to another season with the Sparks, especially the Super Smash,â said Bates.
âIâm determined to get back on the field with the White Ferns in March so thatâll be my focus for now."
The White Ferns kick off 2026 with the opening T20 against Zimbabwe on February 26.
