Kiwi Ryan Wood has crashed during the third practice session at the Bathurst 1000, bringing out the red flag.
Wood, who is part of the all-Kiwi duo with Jaxon Evans, had earlier been complaining of car issues to his Walkinshaw TWG engineer via the in car radio.
Once returning to the pits, Wood was apologetic towards his team who do everything by the book.
"Obviously sorry to the crew, last thing I wanted to do but first crack on greens (fresh tyres) around here, you know what it's like.
"The boys will work pretty hard and that's what I feel stink about, its just given them so much work they really didn't need."
Evans said he was glad to see his teammate out of the car and it was a shame to see the carnage on Wood's first push lap.
"It was looking like a pretty good lap, and just miscalculated a little bit, got the inside fence and as we know here, if you touch any concrete it's normally not good news.
"Bit of work for the boys to do, but I'm sure we'll get it turned around."
The team has just over five hours to fix extensive front end damage on the No. 2 Supra before qualifying at 6.10pm.
