Warriors Assistant Coach Slade Griffin expects fireworks on Saturday, with the Storm and Warriors both coming off losses and having a chip on their shoulders.
Griffin told Sport Nation’s Millsy & Guy that after seeing Storm Coach Craig Bellamy's post match press conference following a 50-10 loss to the Panthers, the Storm will come out firing, especially at home.
The Warriors haven’t had a victory against the Storm in Melbourne since ANZAC Day of 2014, however came close in 2024 when the Warriors led 18-26 before a miracle try from Xavier Coates.
“They’re always a hard team to play with the quality of players they have.”
"They're gonna be motivated, they’re gonna be gritting down on the mouth guard and come out firing.”
Griffin said the NSW Cup side offers a hand in preparation, by implementing the attacking style of the opposing team for defensive practice.
“I'll usually grab some footage and show the reserve-grade coach and then he'll take them through that.
“We get to practice against their threats and their plays that they like to run and get a feel for what's coming.”
With a reasonably unpredictable game for two sides riddled with injury, Griffin believes Chanel Harris-Tavita’s re-addition to the starting team will be a good call.

“I think naturally Tanah (Boyd) and Chanel just got a lot more reps over the preseason because, you know, they were both fit and training.”
However Griffin won’t count out future success for Luke Metcalf as he returns to the sidelines with a hamstring injury.
“It's hard for anyone to come back from an ACL, it's not personal.”
Kiwi and Storm centre Moses Leo also joined Millsy & Guy on Thursday, saying the Storm are motivated by retaining the Michael Moore trophy.
Moore was the Storm’s inaugural manager and tragically passed away in Auckland in 2000.
However, Leo won’t count out Warriors success.
“We know Warriors are a quality side and we've got the utmost respect for them.”
