The Blackcaps have named their ODI and T20 squads for the upcoming white ball tour of India, with Central Districts left-arm orthodox bowler Jayden Lennox earning his first call up to the national side.
Lennox has been included in the ODI squad and is one of several fresh faces selected, alongside uncapped Kristian Clarke and emerging internationals Adi Ashok, Josh Clarkson, Nick Kelly and recent Test debutant Michael Rae.
Blackcaps head coach Rob Walter said Lennox’s selection followed sustained performances at domestic and New Zealand A level.
“Jayden has been an identified player of interest for some time and has some good New Zealand ‘A’ experience under his belt.
"He's consistently been one of the top performers in white ball cricket domestically for a number of seasons.”
Kyle Jamieson returns to both the ODI and T20 squads following his recovery from injury, while Mitchell Santner has been named in the T20 squad only as part of his return to play plan as he continues his recovery from a groin injury.
Michael Bracewell will captain the side during the ODI series - supported by an experienced leadership group including Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell, Will Young and Henry Nicholls.
Kane Williamson was unavailable for selection due to his SA20 commitments.

Test captain Tom Latham will miss the ODI series as he remains in New Zealand for the birth of his third child. Matt Henry will also sit out the one-dayers as he continues his rehabilitation from a calf tear, but is expected to return for the T20 series.
Nathan Smith, Blair Tickner and Mark Chapman were not considered for ODI selection due to ongoing injury recovery, with Chapman tracking towards availability for the T20s.
The tour continues with five T20 internationals following the three match ODI series, providing an important lead in to the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup in February and March.
Walter said exposure to subcontinent conditions would be critical in the build up to the tournament.
“Playing in the sub continent is obviously very different to what we’re used to in New Zealand, so any opportunity we can get to expose our guys to those conditions can only be a good thing, especially prior to a T20 World Cup in the subcontinent.”
Santner, Chapman and Henry are all set to return for the T20 series, while Bevon Jacobs and Tim Robinson have been rewarded for strong domestic form. Jacobs is averaging 54 across his past seven innings, while Robinson is averaging over 60 across his last nine.
James Neesham and Ish Sodhi also return to the Blackcaps setup following recent overseas and domestic appearances respectively.
Jacob Duffy and Zak Foulkes, both newly contracted IPL players, have earned selection after impressing throughout the home summer, with the tour set to be Foulkes’ first experience of T20 cricket in India.
Lockie Ferguson, Adam Milne, Finn Allen and Tim Seifert will join the squad later in the tour once franchise commitments are complete.
Will O’Rourke, Blair Tickner and Nathan Smith remain unavailable due to injury.
