Former British world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has weighed in under his 245lbs limit, but will boast a near-two-stone advantage over Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul for their much-criticised but highly lucrative boxing mismatch.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua, 36, will face the American in a dubious bout across eight three-minute rounds, with regulation 10-ounce gloves being used at Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday.
Given 28-year-old Paul's 13-fight career consists mainly of former UFC stars or faded boxing greats, this contest and Joshua's involvement has sparked a backlash in the boxing world and Thursday's official weigh-in is unlikely to silence sceptics.
Joshua tipped the scales at 243.4lbs (110.4kg), which was comfortably under his weight restriction, but below the 18st he recorded for his last fight against Daniel Dubois in September last year.
Paul, who has regularly fought at cruiserweight since he swapped life as an 'influencer' to enter the world of boxing, came in at 216lbs (97.9kg), giving away a hefty 12.5kg advantage to the former Olympic champion.
