Following months of mounting pressure, Netball New Zealand CEO Jennie Wyllie has resigned.
In a statement, Netball NZ says “Jennie Wyllie has today advised us that she has made the decision to step down from her role as Chief Executive Officer of Netball New Zealand, to take time with her family and explore other opportunities.
"We sincerely thank Jennie for her valuable contribution to netball over the last 16 years."

Matt Whineray, Chair of Netball New Zealand, said, “Jennie has guided the organisation through significant change and challenge, and we wish her all the very best for the future."

Jennie Wyllie said, "It has been a privilege to work with such talented and passionate people, and I am thankful for the opportunities and many memorable moments.
"There have also been challenges along the way, which come with any leadership role. Now, it feels right to focus on my family and look ahead to new opportunities."
Chief Commercial Officer David Cooper will be the Acting CEO until the board appoints a replacement.
Tanya Dearns on Netball New Zealand's treatment of Dame Noeline Taurua | Mornings
In September, Sport Nation broke that Dame Noeline Taurua had been stood down as Silver Ferns coach, just days before the Taini Jamison trophy against South Africa, after a group of high-profile players refused to play for the Silver Ferns, and would make themselves unavailable for selection if Taurua stayed on.
That led to growing calls from various stakeholders, with several sources indicating to Sport Nation that Wyllie and the board should resign.
It’s believed at least 20 employees have left NNZ in the last two years, with some suggesting over half left either directly or indirectly because of “the lack of leadership.”
Following an investigation and mediation, Taurua was re-instated, though won’t take charge of the side until the Commonwealth Games, with no matches currently scheduled.
In May, Sport Nation reported that players were eyeing up moves to Australia, over a lack of clarity over the future of the ANZ Premiership, and a lack of communication from Wyllie and the board.
Jennie Wyllie was appointed CEO in 2016, having previously been with the organisation as head of finance and services, among other roles.
