BALLARAT - Race 6 No.12 - SHYSTAR - Worked to lead fresh yet kept kicking strongly to win maiden (ran some 6L faster than other maiden too), both 2nd and 3rd there then won well. Was just off Ole Dancer 2nd-up last prep, she’s now a G1 winner.
BET OF THE DAY (Sydney)
ROSEHILL - Race 6 No.7 - CREPE MYRTLE - Chased Lyles (form!) before sitting 4-wide 2nd-up and winning anyway, breaking track record. Ran down Swordplay (won easily midweek) latest giving him 5.5kg.
BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY
BALLARAT - Race 5 No.2 - CODIGO - Been good both runs back and like him at 1100m. Split Grand Larceny and Stoli Bolli Flem latest and they both ran very well in strong races subsequently. In well after claim. $8 looks juicy.

Race 9 - Listed Ballarat Cup - 2000m
2 - KINGSWOOD - Terrific fresh then track too form 2nd-up. Cruised to them Flem and loved the fight when challenged. Gets gun trail.
6 - SAINT GEORGE - Well backed to beat Kingswood, had his back, just missed, they beat 3rd clearly and this guy was only 2nd-up off near year break… and has 1.5kg swing. Does draw wide whilst Kingswood gets gun trail but clear danger.
1 - CASINO SEVENTEEN - Good job to win Eclipse Stks with 59kg and 5-weeks off. Coongy Hcp run was good and that form well franked Sydney.
4 - BERKELEY SQUARE - Ran well Geelong Cup then stuck to task latest on tough track. Yep, won this last year (his last win) and beat G1 winner Globe that day.
2 - AIR ASSAULT - Walked in Letts Classic in SA then went back Cran Cup and worked to line well. Beaten 3L this race last year when just didn’t finish off but going better now.
7 - POISON CHALICE - Maybe unsuited leading latest…?? Testing the friendship but maybe one more go ridden colder ????
