Campbell Brown & Cam Luke have your Friday sorted on Trackside.
The lads have taken a close look at Ballarat, Bairnsdale, Muswellbrook, Beaudesert & Canberra in a bid to find the family some winners.
See their best bets below:👇
Campbell Brown
BALLARAT
Race 7 | 2. Amleto
Was great first up on heavy at Warrnambool finding one better, then jumped to 2000m and laid in running third. Is ready to win now third up, little gear adjustment and Back from BM72 to BM66.
BAIRNSDALE
Race 4 | 3. Vegas On Fire
Showed good speed first up and only caught late. Drawn well, nice claim with Olivia East taking 3kgs off and can handle the conditions. Doesn't have a great second up record but expecting similar tactics today. Run them off their legs.
MUSWELLBROOK
Race 4 | 9. Royal Chic
First up was good in a much harder maiden in town. Is the most experienced runner in this race. Drawn to get perfect run in transit and expecting to break the maiden today.
BEAUDESERT
Race 5 | 6. A Touch From Fayt
Back on the turf today, drawn well and should be able to jump and lead. Has superior heavy track form than most of these. The horse to catch.
CANBERRA
Race 5 | 4. Big Time Charlie
Is racing in sensational fashion winning three in a row including last start with 60.5kgs. That was on the synthetic over this trip. This is harder but no reason he cant do it again.
Cam Luke
BALLARAT
Race 3 | 1. Astern Flight
Has been good in both runs so far and he could find a concern or an excuse in both of those trips to the races. The horse that beat him last that is a nice horse and had an easier run in transit. I don't think there is a horse that classy here today. The gate is a little concern but coming off the fence might not be a major issue considering the wet track. The wet track is of no concern neither is staying at 1000 metres considering the slop, big chance.
Race 4 | 9. Justibella
I understand why the favourite is favourite but she is way too short so I am looking for some value and have landed on Justibella. Forget last start as I believe she is a wet track horse and the form behind Concorde Connie stacks up for this. She looks like a girl looking for 1400 metres, having only been there the once and it was an end of run prep so I'm forgetting that also. Drawn wide but should be able to take her time to get across and be prominent in the run, I'd rather take the $2.20 the place then back to favourite at $1.60.
Race 7 | 2. Amleto
Was backed last star in a stronger race than this and just couldn't get to the winner in the straight. That was only second up after resuming over 1700m at the Warrnambool in really good fashion, third up now staying at the 2000m on a wet track all big ticks. He laid in last start still I believe one sided blinker being added will also be a positive. Will stalk the speed from that gate and the setup and the conditions of the race have him no excuses.
Race 8 | 2. Danszin
Was just a little too keen last start in the wrong part of the track at the Warrnambool in a much stronger race. Comes back to 1200m so the tempo being stronger should help if he cant relax. He has won third up and on HT before so should be ready to go. The fave (wind) is going to have to work at the 1200m is a little question although he has some class. I'm with Danszin to be tougher late.
BAIRNSDALE
Race 3 | 12. Lomenie
Cost itself any chance last start at Bendigo after a slow start but that isn't the norm so today's gate should see this girl be very prominent in the run. As always looked like a miler an finally gets her chance on a track that should suit. This is easier than what she has been going around in and she should acquit herself very well. Her sole HT run wasn’t too bad in a deeper maiden than this but it was nearly three years ago. I don't expect the slop to slow her unless the inside is majorly off.
Race 4 | 3. Vegas On Fire
Doesn’t have amazing second up from but not many of those had a set up this good for him. Easier race, perfect gate, claim. Back to 1600m and a track that will suit today. He can bowl along in front and they will need to catch him. Preservator will stalk and be the danger but I think back from 2000m he will hit a little flat spot and that will be enough for VOF.
Race 7 | 1. Bossy Star
Do I want to be diving into this horse? No but it's just an easier race than he is seen for awhile. Drawn well to stalk and his run last start was decent enough for this. Enjoys a HT, normally runs well third up without winning but can find a horse or two better but I don't think today he will find one in this field.
MUSWELLBROOK
Race 5 | 3. Nirmata
Tough horse who is having a wonderful prep. Drawn well but might be a bad draw depending on state of track but it has dried a bit. Bullock going on is a tick and the little freshen up will help him ping and run. 1000m suits as he has been very well placed. Will take a ton of beating, even more so if we get another upgrade.
Race 6 | 2. Smart Buy
A drying track and peak fitness is why I'm leading this girls way. Forgiving her for last start but she does normally handle the toe into the ground. Getting up in trip helps and with the 4kg claim, wouldn't stun me if they try and push forward. Only been here the once but it was in a deeper 58 than this and she was great. Does need a couple of things luck wise to go her way from the tricky gate but she will be very hard to beat.
