Cinch and Celine intent on opening Group 1 account for keen owners
Promising filly Cinch is aiming to bring about a number of firsts in the $1 million Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) at Morphettville on Saturday.
The Lindsay Park three-year-old has strung together three wins en route to her first elite-level start, most recently claiming the Group 3 Auraria Stakes over 1800m at the same track.
Jockey Celine Gaudray piloted Cinch to that last-start triumph after replacing Daniel Stackhouse who was booked to ride Hurry Curry. Gaudray has grasped the opportunity with both hands and will again ride Cinch this weekend.
The 23-year-old has previously had eight Group 1 rides with her best result third in the 2024 Futurity Stakes on Buffalo River.

She’ll be intent on knocking off her maiden Group 1 for a keen ownership group which includes several SEN and SENTrack identities.
Among the SEN Giddy Up syndicate is chief broadcaster Gerard Whateley as well as Giddy Up host Gareth Hall, Hawthorn premiership player Campbell Brown, six-time Group 1 winning jockey David Taggart, sports media all-rounder Cam Luke, player agent to the stars Liam Pickering, and form gurus Mick Gannon, Dean Watling and Mitch Lewis.
Add to that some everyday people in SEN’s digital, production and sales teams, and other friends, and it paints a nice picture of how easy it is to get involved in horse ownership with Lindsay Park.
Co-owners Fairview Park Stud and Kianben Bloodstock are also heavily involved in the daughter of Dundeel and Eye For Fun.
Cinch has taken the group on an incredible ride already, from her Sale maiden to her Listed Tassie Oaks triumph and then into early Oaks favouritism on the back of her Auraria victory.
Now displaced as favourite after copping a visitors’ draw, Cinch remains a love hope in a Group 1 which was once unfathomable for the engaged ownership group.
She has been perfectly prepared by Lindsay Park’s assistant trainer Sarah Fannin at Pakenham who has done an incredible job with the filly.
Next on the agenda for connections: the Australasian Oaks at Morphettville at 4:07pm AEST (3:37pm ACST) this Saturday.
