Scorchers secure top spot in front of record home crowd
The Perth Scorchers have launched into top spot, chasing down the Melbourne Stars to win by six wickets in front of a record home-and-away crowd at Optus Stadium.

With 48,608 fans piling in on Friday night - Perth's highest ever home-and-away BBL crowd - it was the Scorchers' ruthless bowling attack that took control from the off, bowling the Stars all out for just 130 behind Jhye Richardson's 4-16 off 3.2 overs.
Opener Finn Allen secured a superb half century, racking 69 off 39 balls as the Scorchers completed the chase with 19 balls and six wickets in hand.
In what was a battle for top spot, Perth leap atop the BBL table to end their home-and-away season, while the Stars nestle in third before tonight's finals decider between the Brisbane Heat and the Sydney Sixers.
Over in Adelaide, the Strikers took care of the Renegades with ease in what was a deadweight battle at the bottom end of the table.
Bowling out the Renegades for just 99, the Strikers caught the shallow target within 12 overs, losing just two wickets en route to a comfortable victory.
Too little too late for Adelaide, who finish up on just eight points for the season following their home victory.
